On January 10, a roundtable discussion on "Presidential Elections in Modern Russia" was held with the participation of the well-known Russian political scientist, historian- and specialist  on Caucasian studies  Oleg Kuznetsov at Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL). The event was attended by professors and teachers of the Department of Regional Studies, Philosophy and Social Sciences, International Relations, as well as collaborators of scientific- research laboratories. At the roundtable, O. Kuznetsov expressed his views on the topic. He gave information about political trends of the presidential elections in Russia, the effectiveness of political technology used in the electoral process, state budget management and the political system. The political scientist also talked about the changes and reforms in the electoral process in certain periods of time, the mutual relations between the Russian society and the authorities. Speaking about similarities between Azerbaijan’s and Russia's political systems, O. Kuznetsov also shared his views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In addition, the Russian political scientist Oleg Kuznetsov also met the staff of Research Laboratory of Russian Studies and Multiculturalism of AUL. During the meeting, discussions were held on "Actual problems of foreign Russian studies". It should be noted that O.Kuznetsov was elected Honorary Professor of the Institute of Law and Human Rights of the ANAS in 2017. He has been granted with many public awards for his contribution to the development of science and education, as well as his scientific and technological activities.
