Closing Ceremony of the National Student-Pupil Scientific Conference on "Heydar Aliyev and Modern Azerbaijan"

On May 19, the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of Azerbaijan University of Languages (the AUL) organized the closing ceremony of the national student-pupil scientific conference on the theme "Heydar Aliyev and modern Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

In the event, the moderators of the sections gave the final report. Asssociate professor Edalet Abdiyeva said that the 1st meeting of the section on "Heydar Aliyev and the ideology of Azerbaijanism", which was moderated by the associate professor Sevdagul Aliyeva, was attended by 31 people, 40 lectures were listened, 26 certificates and 5 acknowledgments were given. At the 2nd meeting, which was moderated by her, 35 participants took part, 41 lectures were listened, 32 certificates and 5 acknowledgments were given. Associate Professor Bahman Aliyev said that at the meeting of the section on "History and culture of Azerbaijan", 20 people took part, 26 lectures were listened, 9 certificates and 2 acknowledgments were given. Associate Professor Vidadi Bashirov informed of the meeting on "Pedagogy and Psychology" stating that it was attended by 16 people, 18 lectures were listened, 16 certificates were given. Talking about 9 meetings of the section on "Language and Literature" Professor Arif Huseynov said that 195 lectures were listened, 159 certificates and 36 acknowledgments were given. Associate professor Irina Kunina gave the report about the meeting of the section on "Multiculturalism and the ideology of tolerance" which was attended by 12 people, in which 16 lectures were listened, 7 certificates and 5 acknowledgments were given.

The moderators noted that the meetings of the sections were attended by the students of other universities, along with the students of the AUL and schoolchildren. The video highlighting featuring the two-day work of the conference was displayed.

The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Full member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Honored Scholar, Professor Kamal Abdullayev noted that great work has been done within a short period of time: "I witnessed the great efforts of both organizers and participants. School principals, teachers, and pedagogical staff of our university played a major role in the successful completion of the conference." Congratulating the guests from the regions of Azerbaijan, the rector expressed confidence that the conference will leave its permanent mark in their memory: "I hope that acquaintance with the university has expanded the imagination of the pupils, and these two days will remain as pleasant memories for them." Academician K.Abdulla, recalling the first years of his career as a rector, remembered the words of the great leader Heydar Aliyev: "I will never forget. In 2001, I was appointed as a rector. The meeting of the great leader with newly accepted students was held. Naturally, the rectors attended that meeting as well. Turning to the rectors the great leader said: "I entrust these students to you." These words still remain in my mind that our youth and our students have been entrusted to us. They have been entrusted to our schools and universities. Protecting them is our sacred duty." The rector also pointed out that the participation of both students and pupils in the conference is not only symbolic, but also creates educational prospects: "Of course, the greatest success of this conference is the achievement of such a union". Kamal Abdulla expressed his confidence that the shortcomings of the conference will be eliminated in the future by being more professional: "From the statements of the section moderators it seems that a very serious process has taken place. Both pupils and students have been able to defend their theses, reports, and good discussions have been realized. "

Then, the rector Kamal Abdulla presented a computer to each of the IDP schools on behalf of the university, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Professor Afgan Abdullayev gave special gifts to the schoolchildren.

Later, the principals and pupils of the secondary school of Jojug Marjanli village, secondary school No. 1 and No.47 of Aghdam, secondary school No. 1 of Kalbajar expressed their gratitude to the rector of the AUL Academician Kamal Abdulla and the organizers for thoughtfulness, care, goodwill and the atmosphere they created.

At the end of the event, pupils of the secondary school No. 1 of Aghdam uttered the poem "Azerbaijani flag" and the Azerbaijani flag was brought to the stage.
