The AUL has held a solemn book exhibition. The exhibition took place in the frames of cooperation between the AUL and the State Institute of the Russian Language after Alexandr Sergeyevich Pushkin and the State Institution of Culture after “Dom Russkogo Zarubezhya imeni Alexandra Solzhenitsina”.

The Counselor of the AUL Rector for Science and Education Associate Professor Seyfal Hasanov appraised the organization of such an exhibition at the University and introduced the guests to the participants.

The AUL Rector, Full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azaerbaijan Kamal Abdulla greeted the guests and spoke of the importance of the event. He pointed out that reading is an indicator of the attitude to not only the present state of society but also its future.

The Head of the International and Regional Cooperation Department of the State Institution of Culture after “Dom Russkogo Zarubezhya imeni Alexandra Solzhenitsina” Yelena Viktorovna Krivova touched upon the role of the library in the development of the young generation and stated about the need in reading for the socialization process of people.

Further the documentary “The Embassy on Taganski Hill” filmed by the producer Sergey Zaytsev was demonstrated and the AUL students’ choir sang the song “Podmoskovniye Vechera”.

The Deputy Head of the representation “Rossotrudnichestvo” to the Republic of Azerbaijan Alexandr Ilyich Kalamin expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the Rector and the Scientific Research Laboratory of Russian Studies at Azerbaijan University of Languages, suggested the use of the AUL platform to continue the efficient cooperation.

The First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan Yevgeniy Vladimirovich Prokhorenko focused the attention to the importance of the international conference dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 95^th Anniversary “Heydar Aliyev: the Ideology of Multiculturalism and Tolerance” and underlined the possibility of disseminating the values of multiculturalism in the world.

Y.V.Prokhorenko presented his book dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 95^th Jubilee “Heydar Aliyev: Personality, Mission, Legacy” to the AUL Rector, Academician Kamal Abdullayev.

Further the State Institution of Culture after “Dom Russkogo Zarubezhya imeni Alexandra Solzhenitsina” gave Azerbaijan University of Languages 300 books as presents in the frames “Book Support Program”.

The exhibition displayed books on Russia’s history, philosophy, theology, literature, art, the history of Russian movement and its cultural legacy, dictionaries and textbooks.

In the end the Head of Scientific Research Laboratory in Russian Studies, Professor Mammad Aliyev pointed out that although today the modern person allocates little time to reading, the book remains to be the best gift. Then M.Aliyev congratulated the faculty of the AUL and gave them the certificates for the training “The Russian Language in the World Educational Space”.

The event continued its work with the exhibition-presentation.

It should be noted that the State Institution of Culture after “Dom Russkogo Zarubezhya imeni Alexandra Solzhenitsina” is a unique complex forming the foundation for the monuments of spiritual and material culture of emigration, and integrating the functions of a museum, archives, library, scientific-research, information-publication as well as cultural and educational centres.
