Kamal Abdulla Met Baku Engineering University Staff and Students

There was a meeting with the academician Kamal Abdulla at Baku Engineering University. Kamal Abdulla’s novel “The Unfinished Manuscript” aroused great interest and stimulated discussion among students doing a course in “Azerbaijan literature during the independence years” at the department of Azerbaijan language and literature of the Faculty of Education. Firstly, speakers gave a background information about the language, stylistic features and poetic composition of Kamal Abdulla’s novels and analyzed the structural and aesthetic appeal and value of his novels.  Afterwards, academician Kamal Abdulla spoke about the writing process of the novel and shared readers’ reactions with the audience.

The audience also reviewed a connection between the works by Kamal Abdulla like “Secret Dede Gorgud”, The Unfinished Manuscript” and “An intro to Kitabi Dede Gorgud” during the discussion. Students made reports and posed different kinds of questions on the novel “The Unfinished Manuscript”. University staff, Vice Rector for Developmental Affairs Doctor of Political Sciences Bayram Huseynzadeh, The Dean of the Faculty of Education associate professor Islam Huseynov, professor Akif Huseynli and senior lecturer Ulvi Babasoy also took part in the discussion. Professor Akif Huseynli stated that poetic values of intellectual prose in Kamal Abdulla’s creative work are at a higher level. He later delivered a lecture on the author’s novel “The Unfinished Manuscript”. At the end of the event, Kamal Abdulla showed his appreciation, thanked the audience for their active participation in the discussions, and highlighted the importance of holding these kind of discussions in helping to shed light on some issues in his creative works.
