AUL teaching and student community visit unique energy centre
On July 15th, 2009 American students who are currently undertaking Azerbaijani language summer courses at AUL visited BP-operated Caspian Energy Centre (CEC).
The visit, initiated by the head of Regional Studies chair, Associate Professor Sevdagul Aliyeva and teacher of the same chair Samir Rzayev, brought together AUL teaching and student community. Among those who actively contributed in organizing the visit were Senior Lecturer of Regional Studies chair Rena Rajabli; teacher of the same chair Khayala Ismayilova; and students of group 463 Jamila Ahmadova and Shafa Aliyeva.
Greeting the guests, CEC officials gave a brief information about the centre, opened in May 2005. Today the centre is a world-class oil and gas exhibition, which tells the story of the Caspian oil and gas industry, presented through the use of innovative, memorable and educational computer-based media. The exhibition has been designed for many different visitor groups from companies and officials, schools, universities and the general public.
Touring the centre, visitors from AUL got to know about the natural resources of Azerbaijan, and how they are used in everyday life. Through interactive games and other fun activities visitors had an opportunity to bring science to life and learn more about the creation, exploration and commercial use of hydrocarbons.
