60th anniversary of School of German language
On December 19, 2009 a scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 60th anniversary of School of German language was held in AUL.
The rector of AUL, the head of International Relations Committee , vice-president of PA COE, professor Samad Seyidov , the members of Samsun and Marmara Universities of Turkey, German language and literature Institute from Frayburg University of Germany, Rousso University of Moldova and other participants from ANAS and other institutions functioning in Azerbajan attended the event.
The conference took its start with the performance of national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany. The plenary speech was made by the dean of School of German language Ulduz Aslanova. She stressed that, it is a gratifying success of AUL to host famous german language specialists and other representatives from famous Universities of the world.
Professor Samad Seyidov started his speech on the establishment of German language Department 60 years ago in AUL: “In these 60 years a lot of reforms were done for the development of this faculty and today we can obviously see the results of these reforms. ”Rector S.Seyidov went on speaking about the significance of learning german: “The language of one of the most developed European states and the nation that have remarkable contributions to the world science should be taught in AUL and Azerbaijan on a high level. ”
The Department head of Literature Institute named after Nizami of ANAS professor Vagif Arzumanli the head of German language and literature class division of Marmara University professor Ajar Sevim and the head of DAAD in Azerbaijan Andrej Gotze made speeches and congratulated the German language department staff on their anniversary.
The assistant professor of German language lexics and stylistics chair Charkaz Gurbanli delivered lecture on “The history of activities of German language department” and the assistant professor and associate of Marmara University Leyla Joshan on “The facts about the turks in 16-17 th centuries german literary sources.”
The conference proceeded with the division meetings. The lectures on “the innovative teaching experience of german language and literature”, “The practic-theoretical issues in german language and literature”, “Translation challenges of german literature” and “The role of pedagogical experience in teacher training” were also heard.
