Meeting with the founders and jury of National Book Award

On November 17, the founders, the jury of National Book Award and the students of AUL met at Azerbaijan University of Languages. Pro-rector on scientific issues of AUL, prof. Dunyamin Yunusov , rector of Khazar University prof. Hamlet Isakhanli , editor-in-chief of the newspaper “525” Rashad Majid, writer Afag Masud,  owner of  the publishing house “Ali and Nino” Nigar Kocharli and professor-student staff of AUL participated in the meeting.
After giving the best regards of the rector of AUL, prof. Samad Seyidov to te participants, Prof. Dunyamin Yunusov mentioned that this kind of meetings should be held often: “Azerbaijan University of Languages has always valued Azerbaijan literature, culture and history. Such ceremonies aimed at contributing to the development of our modern literature, increasing the number of the readers in the society and raising their interest for the books are a very essential”.
Professor D. Yunusov went on speaking about the purposes of this ceremony: “National Book Award is newly founded in our country. Its main purposes are to focusing the attention of society on Azerbaijan literature, revealing the talented people and increasing the social significance ofAzerbaijan literature”.
The owner of the publishing house “Ali and Nino” Nigar Kocharli informed the participants of the ceremony on the project: “The project is supported by Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism and any kind of prose works, novels, stories written in Azeri regardless of  the nationality of the writer can participate in National Book Award. Besides, the works written by an Azerbaijan citizen not depending on the language of the work can participate as well”.
The editor-in-chief of the newspaper “525” Rashad Majid spoke on the importance of holding this ceremony at AUL. In his opinion it is because the professors teaching at this University stand on the top of Azerbaijan science.
Later the success of this project and its influence towards the development of Azerbaijan literature were discussed.
In the end, the organizers of the ceremony and jury answered the questions of the students.
