During the meeting pro-rector Jale Garibova informed about the forthcoming opening of Indian cultural center in AUL: “We would be glad to see the Indian specialists in our University and our specialists in India. The opening of Indian language center or Indian language courses at AUL will contribute to the widening of the relations between our counties. We may also organize a concert with the University’s dance group in the near future”
Vasumati Badrinatan said that she would be very delighted to participate closely in the activities of AUL. “I have some plans regarding AUL. It would be very nice for me to teach Indian at the Indian Cultural center”
Although her specialty is Linguistics she sees herself mostly as a singer. It’s a second visit of her to Azerbaijan. In her first visit she participated in International Mugam Festival held in March of 2009 in Baku. During that visit she had a chance of visiting Ateshgah and witnessed the historical ties and common features of Indian-Azerbaijan culture.
Mrs. Badrinata highly appreciates our mugam. According to her, the national Indian music Carnatic that she performs is very similar to our mugam. She also performed mugam with Azerbaijan’s national singer Sakina Ismailova . She is planning to combine mugam and Karnati in the future.
After the meeting the guest was closely acquainted with the University and its activities.
