The Department of Foreign Languages was founded in 2007 on the base of Western Studies which implements the mission of enhancing the language skills,communication, rules of speech and speaking, listening, reading, writing of the BA students of the school of Regional Studies and International Relations.

    5. Teaching of Indonesia language as foreign language and the specialty country’s language
    6. Teaching of Hindi language as foreign language and the specialty country’s language
    7. Teaching of the Georgian language as foreign language
    8. Teaching of Armenian language as foreign language
    9. Teaching of Japanese language as the specialty country’s language

    11.Teaching of the Chinese language as the specialty country’s language

     

    12.Teaching of the Arabic language as the specialty country’s language qualification

     

    1. Teaching of Hungarian as a foreign language

    14.Teaching of the Spanish language as the specialty country’s language qualification

    1. Teaching of Polish as a foreign language

    Teaching of language teaching and professional teachers trained in the United States, Indonesia, Israel, France, Germany, and  having certificates are involved to carry out teaching process. Modern methods are applied in the teaching process. Textbooks and course materials are used in accordance with European standards according to their level in auditoriums.

       

The purpose and objective of the department of Foreign languages is to teach  student region languages and additional languages coinciding with them, and to in addition by learning the culture of the country, to develop  all aspects of the language, speaking, listening and comprehension, reading and writing activities of students.  In addition, teaching staff of the department by using  new information technologies (computers, internet) play a major role in the suggestion of new knowledge to the students.

        The objective of the Department of Foreign Languages is to train highly qualified specialists. Experienced teaching staff will conduct  open and exemplary lessons, give advice and recommendations in teachingto young teachers.

         With the support of vice rector for Scientific Affairs department staff successfully took part at the national conference on “Audience Management, evaluation and transparency”  in 2010.

         In addition, the employees of the department annually prepare students  for SSS and to make their speech more fully and sincerely trying to achieve the highest place.

                   The department employees every year take part at international conferences and symposia with articles and theses, training and summer schools.

There are 57 professors and instructors in the content of the Department of Foreign Languages. 8 of them are PhD, associate professors. The head of the chair is associate professor Salman Nuriyev.

            The Function of the Chair of Foreign Languages includes:

  • Teaching of EQL (English as a Qualifying language) and ESL (English as a second language).
  • Teaching of GQL (German as a Qualifying language) and GSL (German as a second language).
  • Teaching of FQL (French as a Qualifying language) and FSL (French as a second language).
  • Teaching of JQL (Jewish as a Qualifying language).
  • Teaching of NQL (Norwegian as a Qualifying language).
  • Teaching of IQL (Indonesian as a Qualifying language).
  • Teaching of HQL (Hindi as a Qualifying language)
  • Teaching of GSL (Georgian as a second language)
  • Teaching of ASP (Armenian as a second language)
  • Teaching of JQL (Japanese as a Qualifying language)
  • Teaching of AQL (Arabian as a Qualifying language)
  • Teaching of CQL(Chinese as a Qualifying language)
  • Teaching of SQL(Spanish as a Qualifying language)
  • Teaching of Hung.SL (Hungarian as a second language)
  • Teaching of PSL (Polish as a second language)

       Highly qualified specialists of the above languages are involved in the teaching process. The modern methods of teaching are applied in the foreign language classes. The text books and teaching aids are worked out according to the language levels on the basis of European standards.
